Hannah’s Journey

Hannah was raised in Riverside, California where she learned early the value of hard work and dedication to a craft. She is a lifelong dancer, and attended college for dance science before pursuing a professional dance career in several cities on the East Coast. A hip injury and subsequent surgery forced her into retirement and back to California, but during the process of healing she realized that her real passion and talent lay in writing. While she’s held several professional positions that involve her skilled writing, she finds the most pleasure in writing novels and screenplays. She is an avid and voracious reader who is always looking for up and coming queer authors; she loves sci-fi and any story where people rise up against indomitable forces. She is also a student of all things noir cinema and blends her interests to give her writing a unique and powerful voice.

Bri’s Journey

Bri was raised in Riverside, California but always felt a pull to New York City, even without any specific career plan. After several years in New York, during which time she dropped out of college and found a job in startup tech sales. She learned the inner workings of entrepreneurship and understood what it took to make things happen. So,  with a few friends she decided to try her hand at production and event planning; specifically classical opera in reimagined settings for a young audience. Over the course of five years of collaboration with opera singers, directors, and artists, she realized that production would be her life’s work. When she moved back to California after ten years in New York she knew that in order to be the producer she wanted to be she’d have to start by writing her own projects. Thus began a years-long process of honing the craft of screenwriting, finding a community of women, and launching the production company Gaff Sisters with her best friend Hannah Soares.
